Lumbering behemoths of super-heavy tanks rolls forward and crush all in their bath as the confrontation between the Imperium and the Forces of Ruin escalate to the dramatic campaign finale for the Siege of Thrax. The Forces of Light, being continued to be pushed back to their Hive City of Thrax Primaris, make a last-ditch effort to slow the advance of the Forces of Chaos as they relentlessly push forwards in their mission to waking the Sleeping Daemon-God buried beneath the City. The Inquisition are now fully engaged in the confrontation, pulling all stops to halt the advance of the traitorous Space Marine Legions. Will the Forces of the Arch Heretic Zyrana Haarlock and her Chaos Space Marines, with the Death Guard as her closest allies, be able to push forward to final Siege of Thrax Primaris? My good friend Marc has been inspired to work on his 40k Ork army in preparation of the upcoming Apocalypse release. His Ork army is already huge. Inspiration to bigger his horde has resulted in an epic unboxing of all the miniatures, plus a focus on getting some big guns ready for the big event later this year – stompas! Check out the progression of getting all the Orks out and on display and the Stompa factory that has been kicked into overdrive this weekend!
Hi all, as part of my January 2013 challenge, I decided it was time to finalize my Nurgle Plaguereaper super-heavy tank for 40k Apocalypse battles. I bought an assembled Baneblade tank on ebay for a song, and had it sitting around for some time, with the intent of “nurgling” it up at some point to be my plaguereaper tank. Well, with the rumors of impending release of an updated version of Apocalypse, I felt it was time to get this thing underway and make it look all properly Nurglified. I’ve started the process with adding some green stuff, some tubing & cabling, and the “pus vats” on the sides for the pus cannon on the turret. Take a look below at the shots so far, comments and critique welcomed!
It’s been a long-standing dream of mine to have enough (painted!) stuff for at least a single army to have a sizeable Apocalypse game. Recent thoughts of getting into Tau or a 3rd army have been usurped to going back to that dream and the long road to get me to the Apocalypse table will fully-fledged, painted, and finished army. What a ride! My Chaos forces seem to be in the best spot to get me there by the end of the year, and so that is going to be my focus. Now I may take a short detour to pick up a ‘Nid model assembly or painting diversion, but the bulk of my hobby effort for this year will be a re-commitment to finalizing my Chaos Marines.
Our first Apocalypse battle was had on Saturday, and I can safely say while a lot of fun we were in a little too deep given our time allotment. We didn’t finish, but we did pretty darn good job given the size of the battle, new rules, new Chaos codex, and the sheer number of bullets flying and vehicles racing around hither and yon.
Take a peek here – I won’t post a full battle report, but I’ll provide some commentary on the pictures along with the information on the scenario and the back-story we generated. Enjoy!
