Well gamers – I’ve had this commission on my work bench for some time, and feeling a *little* guilty for how long it took me to get completed, but I feel like it’s pretty much done and I’m ready to show it off. A friend of mine, introduced through the Facebook page and some Nurgle scultping work I did, reached out to me with a special project, and I was happy to take it on. It was going to be a challenge as it would test my skills to do real anatomy. I think it turned out pretty well and I’m happy to say it’s complete. Check it out inside for progress and finished work!

I’ve wanted to convert up some Chaos Spawn for my 40k Nurgle CSM force for some time. I wasn’t too thrilled with the stock models, although they did have some nice bits in that kit, and didn’t look too Nurgley. You know me – when it comes to my Nurgle CSM force, it pretty much has to be a labor of love conversion. So I started on these conversions a while ago, set them aside to work on some other stuff, and finally got around to finishing them. Super happy with the results! Check inside to see the results!

A little while ago I was asked to do another Nurgle conversion commission from my new friend Tobie, and I was excited for the challenge. This was off the heels of creating a Nurgle Rhino hatch with the erupting spine, and he had a need for a Nurgle Helbrute to complete a collection of Helbrutes for each of the four factions of Chaos. I was happy to take on the commission for trade of some painting services, and I’m pleased to say the commission is complete and in the hands of it’s new owner, getting painted up! Check out the pics below to see the green-stuff customization to the basic helbrute kit…

I finally pulled the trigger and made the commitment about 6 months ago to go to a wargaming tournament and see the spectacle, and I wasn’t disappointed! I recently, this last weekend, had the opportunity to go to the Las Vegas Open (LVO), hosted by Frontline Gaming. What a spectacle and a show! A well run convention / tournament with all kinds of games to be seen. The event was largely dominated by 40k, but many other games were represented, such as Warmachine/Hordes, Ininity, Drop Zone Commander, Malifaux, and more. Below is a chronicle of my (very positive) experience.

One night not too long ago, while I was painting some Warmachine Khador infantry, I got suddenly inspired to get back to my love of the 40k Nurgle CSM / Daemons faction. I had lots of bits recently sorted and recently purchased some FB Vargheists for some CSM Spawn conversion, and the wings were super cool and rotted looking. I had bought some bits to build a Tzeentch Daemon Prince as well (one of my many back burner projects… oy…) and then a flash of inspiration hit me. What followed was a marathon night of converting and building into the wee hours…
