After Adepticon 2018, even though we had one “interesting” game there 😉 , we decided to embark on our 2019 Adepticon project – Dark Mechanicum! Riffing off the Porphyrion Knight I made for Adepticon 2018, I wanted to make a full army of Dark Mechanicum in the same spirit of that conversion, but across the entire army. The planning for Adepticon 2018 Horus Heresy event was more than a year in the making for my doubles team partner Paul and I, and we had a great time putting the dream into reality for our Word Bearers & Malinax display board for the event. Having just come off of LVO 2017, and looking for our next project for 2017 / 2018, we landed on Word Bearers armies with House Malinax allies for our next big project. A lot of work went into the planning and execution over the course of the year. The project got underway in March…
The name says it all – what could be better than good friends, good food, and Horus Heresy Zone Mortalis? I had some friends over to Chez Cranky for some Zone Mortalis games and some good slow-smoked BBQ (hence the “meat”…). Much incredible food was brought over by all and vast quantities of it were consumed before a great 3 on 3 battle of Zone Mortalis for the Northwest 30k‘s In the Shadows of Isstvan campaign. Much merriment, good cheer, full bellies, and lethal Zone Mortalis action was had! Pictures within – check it out!
Hello one and all and welcome to the massive picture dump of the Horus Heresy Invitational! This event was organized by Northwest 30k fearless leader David Leggé and graciously hosted by Paul Sewell of Heroic Knight Games in Issaquah, WA. Many gamers showed up (a total of 24 players, 6 players battling it out on 3 Zone Mortalis boards, and 18 players playing on regular 4×6 tables) for some awesome Horus Heresy action. So many great armies on display, and the Northwest 30k scene is growing and with a lot of really great people. And a mysterious creature showed up…
Hey everyone! Just back from Vegas and wanted to share my experience and my pictures of the Las Vegas Open 2017, particularly the Horus Heresy events I attended. This year at LVO for the 30k scene there was a “Horus Heresy Mega-Battle” (giant apocalypse style game), and a 6-round 2,500 point tournament played on Saturday and Sunday. The Northwest 30k crew made it down to Vegas and had a blast playing 30k, meeting old friends, and making new ones, all while enjoying the 30k hobby. Warning – pic heavy!
