First Impressions: Antimatter Games’ Deep Wars

A friend of mine, several months ago, pointed out a game he was in the process of Kick-starting an expansion to an existing “under the sea” miniatures game called Deepwars. It immediately caught my eye. I started browsing their website and I had to give it a look, and I have to say I’m pretty impressed. I’m definitely interested in spending more time with this game. Deepwars is a tactical miniatures table-top wargame set in an alternate universe, essentially a “Jules Verne” style world with Elder God tech, spells, and some steampunk elements. Getting Started with Dropzone Commander

I’ve been interested in Dropzone Commander for a while now, but just hadn’t pulled the trigger. I felt that I had gotten into something that *wasn’t* 40k with Warmachine / Hordes, and that I couldn’t really justify a new miniatures game (either with time to focus on it or financially). Chaos Vindicator Madness!

Being somewhat of a completist with my Nurgle Chaos Space Marines army (as well as having several units of Plague Marines having their butts handed to them at the hands of IG Leman Russ Demolisher cannons), I felt compelled to get somd Chaos Vindicators assembled and ready for action for my Nurgles. I love Nurgling up vehicles and these guys were no exception, and in fact I had a blast thinking through these conversions while trying to stay fluffy with the rationale behind the conversions.

Nurgle Raptors painting progress

I’ve been working on these Raptors for some time, and finally finished 2/3 of them (painted up). A lick of paint always makes them perform better on the battlefield I always say, so these guys are finally ready to deploy in full force for the ruinous powers. I’ve got about 4 more to paint plus a Nurgle Lord with jump pack, and those are currently on my painting bench. I had fun converting these – these were the first minis I made using Green Stuff Industry’s “Tentacle Maker” – I couldn’t be happier!
