I finally finished the bulk of my 30k Mechanicum army and I am so stoked with how they finally turned out. I’ve been painting these guys since December of last year and saving them on my shelf to finish them by sealing – I dare not seal them in the winter time. I live in the Pacific Northwest United States, so much of the year it’s a little too cool and/or rainy to prime or seal. I get terrified when I need to go seal models because of the dreaded “fogging” effect. I also wanted to get some decals on them, which I’ve never done successfully to my satisfaction on other models, so I held off till the summer (now!) to do transfers and final sealing. Below is the results – check it out!

I’ve completed my Magos / Archmagos for my 30k Mechanicum army. It’s the Games-Workshop Tech Priest Dominus model, and it seems to work great for a 30k magos / archmagos. I really love this model. Such a cool, detailed, and characterful miniature, and was super fun to assemble and paint. I wanted to show my final touches on this guy and maybe talk a little bit about the process/steps I used to paint him up. I’m so happy I picked Mechanicum for my first 30k army and while I was painting this guy up I really cemented as to why – he’s so deliciously weird and different than anything I’ve worked on in the past. Check out the pics of the finished work as well as my notes on how I painted him up!

Hey everyone, been a while since I’ve posted, and really my hobby progress has largely been consumed since last Christmas with a Horus Heresy Mechanicum army I’ve been assembling and painting like mad. When I went to LVO 2016, I wanted to see all the great 30k armies and it really helped keep me motivated to get my Mechanicum army ready for next year’s LVO. Part of that force is going to be 2 Krios Venator tanks – I love these models. But not going to lie – those models are super tricky to assemble. Check out my tutorial inside to see how these pieces go together – its important to assemble in the right order, and I hope through my trial and error, others can learn how to assemble these bad boys with less struggle.

My dear friend Marc recently acquired a few Dreamforge Titan kits, having wanted to build them for some time, finally taking the plunge to get them and construct one of them, for the purpose of using as an alternate 40k Knight Titan. He took the time to put together an unboxing and step-by-step instruction guide on assembly, and gave us some tips and tricks along the way. Check out his walk-through below, with a size comparison to an Ork Stompa at the end!

I’ve wanted to convert up some Chaos Spawn for my 40k Nurgle CSM force for some time. I wasn’t too thrilled with the stock models, although they did have some nice bits in that kit, and didn’t look too Nurgley. You know me – when it comes to my Nurgle CSM force, it pretty much has to be a labor of love conversion. So I started on these conversions a while ago, set them aside to work on some other stuff, and finally got around to finishing them. Super happy with the results! Check inside to see the results!
