Had our 3rd battle in our campaign for Aggrippa Secundus yesterday at the Seattle Battle Bunker. 1500 points a side, Space Wolves vs. Chaos (Nurgle) once again, but this time the forces of Chaos had 500 points of allies in the form of Imperial Guard (traitors!) in a 1500 point total per side game. Very interesting game with a few twists and turns, particularly when the Chaos Lord and the Leman Russ showed up on the battlefield! Some pictures posted below of the battle, more details on the campaign to be posted on the forums, coming soon.
Phew! A journed that started many months ago (pretty much a full year ago, to be exact!), I started on the road of making custom, Nurgle-themed obliterators. Back then, in 5th Edition, making “Nurgle” obliterators was purely fluffy (as you couldn’t put Chaos Marks on oblits in that codex). Now that in 6th you can (WOOT!), the finishing of this project is all the more sweet. Now, the painting of these 9 custom obliterators is completed, and I thought it was time to post the final results, with side-by-sides of finished model and painted version.
Finished! Finally done constructing my 9 semi-scratch-built Nurgle obliterators. This guy is the 9th and final installment of a project I started many months ago in creating my own obliterators. I didn’t like the current GW sculpts so much and I wanted to test my skills at some really serious conversions – and (I feel) the effort paid off – mostly in the development of my green-stuff skills. This guy is a bit more “Nurgly” then the other oblits I made. Take a look, commentary welcome!
Here is my 8th installment of my custom, kit-bashed nurgle-themed obliterators. I think this guy turned out very well. Pictures are a little grainy; not sure what happened, usually my camera on my BlackBerry (I know…) is usually better, these didn’t turn out so hot. Anyways, this guy is a little different than my others in that I’ve made him more Nurgly by adding guts and intestines coming out of his belly.
Added my 7th installment to my Nurgle Obliterators ongoing project – head on over to my Nurgle Obliterators Project post to see detailed screen shots of my latest pustulent creation. These guys are pretty intensive but a ton of fun. I’ve also pretty much finished up my tutorial on how to create these guys, based on my work on this particular obliterator. Head over to my Nurgle Obliterators tutorial to check it out.
