Last weekend we had a Zone Mortalis game day. The rules are captured in the ForgeWorld Horus Heresy Book 1 – “Betrayal” book. It’s a heck of a lot of fun and a good way to mix up your standard 40k game a little bit. The idea was to have small battles in the confines of a underground complex or a derelict space hulk or some other enclosed area – making it doubly dangerous for everyone! The tightness of the corridors and the reduced line of sight makes it much different experience and you need to change your tactics to survive…
The forces we used were each 1000 points, and were spread across 5 different forces:
Raven Guard Space Marines
Chaos Marines (Nurgle)
Imperial Ordo Xenos (Alien Hunters)
The match-ups were:
- Space Marines vs. Tryanids (1000 points) – victory to the Space Marines
- Chaos Marines vs. Eldar (1000 points) – victory to Eldar
- Tyranids vs. Ordo Xenos (1000 points) – victory to Ordo Xenos
No battle reports, but suffice it to say we had a blast and here are some pictures from the games we played. We played on 3’x3′ boards the first two games and the last game was a true ZM 4’x4′ board. Awesome terrain created by Craig.
Pics below, enjoy!
