Forgeworld Terrain Finished!

Well well – how time does fly on those “low priority” projects sitting on your work bench. Enter the terrain piece. You know, as I become a “more seasoned” gamer (more seasoned = old fart to you all) I’m finding I’m getting more interested in the quality of the terrain than the size of my miniature collection or whether I have everything in my army. And seeing’s that I’m getting over a cold and not feeling very well, and don’t have the energy tonight to drive one of my other projects to completion, I sat at my bench pondering what…

Nurgle Blight Drone Assembly, Pt1

Well, got some more work done on my 3 Blight Drones. These are beautiful models (beautifully rotten, gross, and decayed that is – Papa Nurgle would be proud). The one thing to keep in mind is that even though they are gorgeous models, they’re a little tricky to assemble. Forgeworld Nurgle Blight Drones – off the sprues

Wow, I’m in super-construct mode recently. I really should be painting, but I recently got a big Forgeworld order and I’m on a roll to get everything built so I can get it on the table. I was concerned that the first Decimator that I assembled was too tall – specifically, I didn’t ensure that the legs (which come in 3 parts – thigh, shin, and elongated foot bone, much like a digitigrade leg) were assembled such that they would make the model have that canonical “hunched” look. Turns out that with my 2nd Decimator, I intentionally tried to make the legs as compact as possible, and in the end the model is really only about 1/2 cm shorter than his less-hunched counterpart. So…

Forgeworld Chaos Decimator WIP

Been working on assembling 2 Decimator Daemon engines I purchased recently from Forgeworld. Gorgeous models. Legs are a bit fiddly and don’t fit together perfectly, and hard to get the pose and the overall height of the model right, but so far so good. If you aren’t careful the model can end up being really tall. Gotta get those legs in a more hunched position for the next one. This one’s not bad, but lordy, does he TOWER over just about everything else I have in my army. Should be suitably intimidating on the table. I would be!
