Lock & Load 2015 Preparations

I originally was going to skip Lock & Load this year as I figured I’d be too busy and traveling for work, but I decided with my buddy John at the last minute to go!  I busted out my Khador stuff and started painting a few odds and ends, just to have more stuff painted and ready to go for the event.  I’ve posted some pictures below to show my progress over the last few weeks in preparation for the event, check it out!

Chaos Daemon Prince conversion – done!

Well this guy has been a long time in the making. I finished painting this guy in the winter of 2013 and he sat on the shelf waiting for the weather to get better before I sealed him with clear coat. Now he’s done (well not 100% done, I need to put some metal flake on the rusted parts but that won’t take long) and he’s ready for the battlefield. I started this guy a long time ago with progress shots here and I’m glad he’s finally gotten completed. He’s one of my favorite conversions. Some pics below of this…

Tyranid Barbed Heirodule!

Well then. My blogging on hobby and gaming related stuff has started to follow the pattern of this little gem of my collection – a little too long in the updating! I bought this Tyranid Barbed Heirodule in a Forgeworld purchase WAAAY back in mid 2011. It’s been sitting in it’s package, untouched, in my hobby projects box for over 3 years. 3. YEARS. Tyranid Hive Tyrant painting tutorial

I took a look at my blog a few weeks ago and realized that I’ve been focusing on my Nurgle-themed Chaos Space Marines for over 2 years. 2 years! No wonder I’ve been feeling like they’ve been a bit of a grind. That, coupled with the impeding launch of the Tyranid Codex for 40k 6th Edition, and holiday vacation coming up and having some access to some free time, I felt the stirrings of the Hive Mind setting upon me and the compulsion to build and paint Tyranids! I took it upon myself to dust off the Hive Tyrant…

Nurgle Raptors painting progress

I’ve been working on these Raptors for some time, and finally finished 2/3 of them (painted up). A lick of paint always makes them perform better on the battlefield I always say, so these guys are finally ready to deploy in full force for the ruinous powers. I’ve got about 4 more to paint plus a Nurgle Lord with jump pack, and those are currently on my painting bench. I had fun converting these – these were the first minis I made using Green Stuff Industry’s “Tentacle Maker” – I couldn’t be happier!
